There is what that is called a red belly black snake and then there is a rare snake that has only been found a few times in the world and has been in the south western part of the USA. It is completely black with a red stripe down it's back from head to tale. If this is the snake you found and it is still alive you might be a hero if you was to turn it in so it can be studied.
I live in NWA and have never seen one here. Really I don't want to walk out in my back yard and see one either. I would kill it and might end up in jail over it. lol
