what size crickets do i feed my 6in (tail included) graceful chameleon2007-11-24 2:03:48

i GOR HER 3 DAYS AGO AND SHE STIL HASNT EATIN. I AM TRYING TO FEED HER CRICKETS, BUT I THINK THEY MAY BE TO BIG. WHAT SIZE SHOULD THEY BE?

do you know if they are wild caught or captive breed about 90 percent of the time gracefuls are wild caught and stress out like crazy and size does matter on crickets i would feed 1/2 inch crickets if fed too big of cricket (especially now) she most likely wont eat it and if left in the cage crickets are quite dangerouse, can also try small mealworms and cockroaches (roaches imo are much better than a cricket). also how are you getting water to them. chameleons dont drink out of a bown very easy although can be trained by putting an air stone in the bowl to create movement, so they must be misted a few times a day

Are they suppose to eat everyday, I just got a Chinese water dragon yesterday and he hasnt ate anything yet either, And It doesnt matter the size the cricket is it will eat it.

Ideally no bigger then the size of her mouth (from left to right from the top)

She may be stressed from moving, though she should eat daily. Offer her one or two, and if she doesn't eat them, remove them and try again later. If you leave them in they can stress her out and even injure her. If she doesn't eat after another day or so call in a vet or return her, she could have parasites and things that are making her ill. Be sure to provide a shallow water dish and make sure her environment is set correctly to her needs, any colder or hotter etc may effect her eating habits as well.
