sounds like he's chokin on something, all dry heaves, not throwin up.
Answers:it might be sneezing too. see the vet.
i know that they will expell xcess salt from their nose make sure they are warm heat rock and lamp and are getting proper vitamins.

Take his cigarettes away
I would keep a close eye on him/her. It may have a cold, or may have ingested something and can't pass it. My iguana, who died two summers ago, once ate a plastic bag - the kind you get from a grocery store. If you suspect that your iguana is sick or something isn't right, take him to a vet . I waited too long with mine, and he got dehydrated and died. I still miss him. (Oh, he did pass the plastic bag.. . that isn't why he died!)
we use to have 5 iguanas living in our home. Our iguanas expelled salt in the form of a sneeze. I hope this helps!
