why does my bearded dragon try to bite me
when i try to hold my bearded dragon it acts like it wants to bite i dont know y how can i get him not to do that . only trying to hold him any one knows any thing like the help .
Answers:Maybe you taste good? Seriously, he just needs to be held more to get used to it. Get some thck leather gloves and hold him as often as you can!

Sometimes animals bite their owners as a way of being playful. I watched my aunt and uncle's cat when they were out of town and whenever I gave her food and water she would nip at my ankles. I don't know if this applies to bearded dragons, but it's just my theory.
Mate, it's a reptile, like any other. It obviously sees you as a threat, and dislikes being picked up.
Remember that if you want to keep a reptile as a pet, it takes longer to train them. They have a less developed brain than mammals. Therefore, be patient. Maybe after a couple of months it will allow you to pick it up without any ill will toward you - especially once it realises you're providing it with food.
you're just not compatible. it's not you, it's him. he's not ready for any kind of commitment at this point in his life. just give him some room to grow and figure out what he wants.
My bearded dragon once bit me because she thought my finger was a mealworm lol. Your dragon probably isn't comfortable being held, sometimes my dragon puffs out when i pick her up. Try just sitting around with it on the ground and feeding it treats and petting its head, soon it will be comfortable enough to let you handle it.
the reason why he might be trying to bite you is because he might not see you as his owner. what you have to do is handle him more, the more you handle him the more he starts to feel comfortable with you. now think about it, doesn't that make sense? how often do you handle him? you should handle him at least one hour out of every day. NEVER LET YOUR DRAGON SEE YOU FEED IT BECAUSE IF IT GETS HUNGRY AND SEES YOUR HANDS IT MIGHT MISTAKE THEM AS ITS FOOD OR JUST TO LET YOU KNOW ITS HUNGRY.
