he is nocturnal. if he happens to not be nocturnal, he may just be stressed with his new surroundings. if he only has one place to hide he may also not venture out of there because he doesn't feel secure, try more place to hide.

well my gecko's come out in the morning and know when the morning feeding is so that they are up and ready. also you can make less spots for them to hide so that you will see him more. Also try to take them out and handle them as much as possible.
My Tokay Geckos used to spend alot of time sticking to the glass of the aquarium I had them in, but they did their moving around at night, too, like other Geckos.
Well geckos are usally playful so maybe you should take him to the vet.
