2 Questions about Guinea Pigs2007-11-24 21:57:11

Okay I have a feeling that my guinea pigs' cage is too small. I read about those C&C Cages b4, how much are they? Where and how do you get them?

And also, How much should a 10 month old guinea pig weigh?? My guinea pig Bart is 10 months and I think he's a little on the fat side, but I'm not sure. Could you please help me? Answers PLZ! Thnx!

C & C cages can range in price. It's really dependent on how much you want to spend. I'd say $50 would get you a really, really nice 2 x 4 cage. Guinea Pig Cages.com has all the information you'd need on how to build one, as well as where you might be able to find the supplies. They also have a link where you can buy a kit with all the supplies. I'll post it below.

As far as weight goes, I'd recommend checking out Guinea Lynx. I have a 9 month old pig who weights approx 2 pounds and 16 oz! All my boys are around that range and their ages range from young to old.

C&C cages are great. You can make a huge one for about 45-45 dollars. You can get the "cubes" at Target in the home storage section. The coroplast can be bought from any sign making store, just call and ask. Read www.guineapigcages.com for instructions on how to make one. They have a place on the site that can help you find stores in your area with supplies. You could also order one, premade from the site, though that would cost you a bit more.
