I'm going to say this right off the bat - I am NOT a proponent of breeding guinea pigs. If you're not sure what you're doing, if you have ANY questions whatsoever about it, then you SHOULDN'T be doing it. It puts an insane amount of stress on the sow (female) - recent statistics show that 20% of sows die during childbirth. And frankly, the amount of guinea pigs sitting in rescues and shelters is absolutely deplorable, and for each new born baby that's one more home taken away from a pig in a shelter. Are you prepared to separate the babies from the mother as early as 3 weeks? You'll need separate cages for the boars and sows in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies, as female guinea pigs are capable of reproducing as early as 4 weeks of age. Mom will be able to conceive hours after giving birth (which is highly discouraged). Bottom line, if you don't know what you're doing, than DON'T DO IT. Period.

Now, that said, yes, you can keep your sows together during their pregnancy. But I would remove them as the time of birth approaches. The babies are born large, fully furred, and ready to run. The mother generally carries several pups and her weight may double, putting stress on her circulation system and other organs.
