okay, first i was wondering if theres anyway i can cure his what i THINK is a cold. i made the worst mistake and got PINE bedding, he was in it for about a month and i noticed his eye was a little goopy every now and then, i changed it to good bedding now and am feeding him hamster vitamins. any way i can help him get better?

and how else do you guys play with your hamsters? any creative ways besides letting them run around on your hands and in the stupid ball? thanks

To solve the problem of a cold, keep your hamster in a warm place. Feed him this mixture:

-1 tbsp of lukewarm milk

-1 tbsp of lukewarm water

-1 tsp of honey

Mix this until the honey is distributed evenly, and feed this to your hamster through a syringe without a needle. Only let a bit of the mixture into his mouth at a time so that you don't drown him.

If you don鈥檛 have a syringe without a needle, then you can use a small straw such as a juicbox straw. Fill the straw with the lukewarm mixture and place your finger on the top of the straw so that it doesn鈥檛 drip. When you want to put it into your hamsters mouth, simply lift your finger a tiny bit when its mouth is on the straw.

I play with my hamsters in an enclosed area such as an empty bathtub or playpen, full of duct pipes, cardboard shelters, shoes, and other places for her to hide in. I also teach it how to stand by offering treats above her head, which she gets by standing on her hind legs. Some hamster owners like to craft a wooden maze full of treats for their hamster to play in. If you dont have wood, you can always make them out of cardboard, but these will get chewed up easily and will not last as long.
