I am getting a hamster in 2 months...2 long!! I have to wait for progress reports to come out in school...that's about 8 weeks away, how can I make thetime go by? QUICK!!

you should go onto the internet and write down all u can about hammys!! and all of ur researching will make it fun to learn about hammys so the time will go by fast!! thats what i did while waiting the agony to get my guinea pig!! i just researched, wrote stuff down, wrote things down like how to make a C&C cage (the one i have now), then draw pictures of the color of guinea piggie that u want! thats what i did but i only had to wait 3 weeks! so yeah just do that and the time should go by fast!!

Behavior

Hamsters are nocturnal; therefore they are most active at night. They have keen senses to aid them in the dark. They must be woken up very carefully or they will easily become irritable. They are fairly intelligent, very active and friendly. They should always be provided with toys to play with when awake. They have poor depth perception and may walk off of tall tables.

Housing

Hamsters can adapt to any type of small animal cage. The most important thing to remember that the cage needs to allow plenty of room for the Hamsters to play and burrow. So a wire bottom cage is not appropriate! The SuperPet CritterTrails and Starter Home Kits are good prepackaged cage purchase choices. But if you can afford it, the best cage for a Hamster is a long aquarium, such as a 20 gallon long tank or a 10 gallon tank.. The 20 Long will house up to 4-6 Hamsters and the 10 gallon will house about 1 -2 Hamsters. This will provide the hamster with a chew proof cage that can be filled deep with a layer of comfy bedding that they can dig and burrow through. You can hide pieces of PVC pipe/ or SuperPet Tunnels in the bedding for them to run and play through, satisfying their natural instinct. You can also purchase a tank top to secure on top of the tank. Tank tops are wire tops that secure to the top of the aquarium.
