if they dont use them as toilets fill a cardbord box with lots of woodshavings.

I would grab 7 boxes and put each of them in their own box and put their mum in every other 2 hrs or so .if it becomes a problem grab a box lable it SYRIAN HAMSTERS and include all their stuff in it including plenty water and food and the mom if u wish and place the box on the side walk next to a busy street i would go with my first answer though.
This is such a delightful stage! Let them explore - it's good for them. They're learning and their muscles are getting strong. If they get into trouble, they'll squeak and their mom will come running over to rescue them.

Keep them in the cage, and let their mom take care of them.

The real fun comes when they start fighting - and they will. They're territorial and sometimes you'll hear a SQUEAK! Basically, they are asserting their dominance over each other.

And you might want to start lining up good homes now. :-)

Okay here's a step-by-step instruction...

1.) Dad should be in other cage...far away...

2.) Start to figure out gender, and keep this logged...

3.) Let them discover the cage a little, pee won't give them a cold, trust me. Make sure food is always avaliable to the mother and babies, because they will soon be weened, and mother's milk is useless. (Seeds, Fruits, and veggies all work)

4.) At 3 weeks seperate the males and females to seperate cages...Start to find homes, or get seperate cages for all the hamsters...

5.) At 8-9 weeks you need to seperate the hamsters COMPLETELY. That means give to family, friends, etc., or put in seperate cages for each individual...

6.) By 10 weeks it sould all be over...You have won...Goodjob!...

yes they grow fast just be sure dad is not in the cage at all, and at 8 weeks you can start looking for homes for them, so be patient, and maybe keep ma and pa in separate cages from now on?
