Why does everybody freak out when someone says they breed a certain animal or they want to. There is NOTHING wrong with that. As long as all the animals needs are being met then it is fine. Cant you guys understand that there are alot of animal lovers(like myself) that love a certain breed of animal? I love rats and I'm wanting to start breeding them. And all I get is rude people telling me I shouldnt. I am devoted to my animals and I would do everything to make them happy. I understand there are people out there that obviously dont care about there animals, their just doing it for the money. but honestly I could care less about the money. I just love watching little babies come out of their mother and grow each day. And soon find a great home. I always make sure they go to good homes. And I would take any of them back in a heart beat if the new owner could not take care of it. How come you guys cant understand how we animal lovers feel? I am a better owner then most.

Answers:

True animal lovers would not contribute to the overpopulation of small animals by breeding. YOU love rats, YOU love watching them being born... Sounds selfish to me. If you loved rats, you'd be adopting homeless ones in rescues or shelters, not bringing more in the mix.

I think its because there are so many unwanted and mistreated animals that are looking for a loving home. x

I think people, including myself, have issues with irresponsible breeders. The ones that keep breeding animals together that have genetic problems that keep on being passed from one generation to the next. Also, irresponsible breeding leads to over population in shelters because there arent enough people that want the puppies which leads to more and more dogs being put down.
