Answers:

1) life span- Norway rats live to be about a year old- our beloved pet rat lives to be two to three years old, wild rat is flighty and survives by foraging for food in our homes. Our beloved pet rats come in a variety of colours and markings and are smaller in size than wild norway rats. Wild Norway rats have uncanny survival skills. Pet rats when "released" do not survive.
