Lastly, you can take them outside now and hope for the best. Mice are pretty hardy creatures. When I worked for a food distributer, I would occassionally see mice and rats in the cooler area where we store milk and produce. This area is kept around 35 degrees. That one didn't surprise me though... what DID surprise me were the rodents that survived in the freezer! The freezer is kept at -30 to -40 degrees, and yes those temps are in Farenheit!

You should also remember that mice has a "fur coat" that helps to keep them warm, and a mother mouse knows how to build a nice warm nest. :)

Don't be too upset about moving the babies into a box. The alternative, as you said, was to let the mouse have her babies where you stored your food! At least you didn't kill the babies outright when you saw them which is something I know a LOT of people would have done.

why are you interfering? leave her alone! she is a wild mouse and she knows what she is doing, mice have been doing this since way before humans had rubber gloves and kitchen sinks etc. i bet you she will now abandon them. you are gonna have a hard time sitting up all night feeding them for the next few weeks and it will all be for nothing because they usually die. people should learn not to interfere with nature.

call animal control. DO NOT TOUCH THE MICE! they carry diseases! animal control now! now the mom is going to abandon them since you touched them. animal control with help big time. yeah you might have to pay but call them still. the people will help the poor babies and set them free.

i would have had mouse traps to take care of that. wild rodents carry diseases, if you want a pet mouse buy one at the pet store.

Take advantage of the situation and get rid of all of them!! Otherwise you will be overrun with mice after these babies have more babies, and more babies...

That is so gross that you touched them, with or without a glove! Get rid of them. Squash them! Get the broom and sweep them outside. If they die good they won't be back. Mice are like the number one breeders. You should have left them alone, but since you didn't you should get rid of them. Definitely take advantage of the situation.

Try buying traps that will catch the animal alive take mother and babies out of your and put them in a safe place far away. Mice proof your house so they will not come back.Plug up any hole that they can come in and etc.

ignore all the people who say that they hate mice keep them i love mice my cat caught 1 and brot it into uor house live so we kept it and it accualy was verry nice ( peaz dont kill mice wiled or tame o ya and damm all oyu mouse and rat haters ;) i have a pet rat 2 and she is verry nice)

I know you thought you were doing a nice thing, but you probably should have left her alone. Your presence is scaring her more than anything. here she is giving birth to all these babies, and these giant things are staring down at her! She cant run, since she's in labor so she is essentially stuck. There is a chance she will reject them, which is why you should have left her alone. if you have caught 20 mice in your kitchen, you need to get a serious exterminator,soon. She is a mouse, she knows what she is doing, and you are interferring with nature. just leave her alone, and let her move her babies to a safe spot. You should never interfer with the birth of a wild animal, rodent or not.

I would catch her in a live trap (might take days) and then carefully move her and the litter outside...safest covered area you can find. You can't leave them, because they'll just keep breeding, but it's not humane to kill them. You could try catching her and moving them into a ten gallon tank set up, but the stress might be too much on her. If you try that, let them all loose when the babies are about four weeks of age.

um..just leave him! put a moustrap so that you will never ever see a mouse giving birth. im not mad i just hate mice! but in your question you want to take care of that mouse. if you really planned to buy or adopt mouse, i will recomend to buy hamsters!

but serious speaking, i never saw a mouse giving birth...
