Acceptable Guinea Pig Cage2007-11-24 21:57:24

I was looking at guineapigcages.com and am wanting to make my own. I was looking at target.com and found some of the cubes. But i am just wanting to make sure these will be the right ones. Also, they come in a four pack .How many will i need? Thanks! :-)

yup i got mine at target. i just made a c&c cage. the four pack means that there are four cubes not pannals. you might get them cheaper if u go to the store. mine were $15 for a six pack. the four pack should be enough but it really depends on what size cage ur building. please note that the cubes are acctually 14.5 so the mesure ments will be slightly different. good luck and thank you for being a responsible guinea pig owner and not cramming your guinea pig into a tiney cage.

these are storage cubes not animal cages go look at petco you could not use those storage cubes to house a guinea pig
It should be fine, a great choice, not sure how big the holes are but if the inner square dimensions are bigger than 1.5 inches than it is too big unless you have an adult or pregnant pigger. You may need cable tyres/zip ties as well as the connectors to add extra stability.

As for how many you will need, that depends on how many guinea pigs you want, and how big you want the cage, plus if you want an upper level you will need more grids. This is the main page of guinea pig cages (which you have probably seen), it includes dimensions on how big your cage should be for how many piggers you want:
