Another guinea pig question
hi i have a guinea pig question and i was wondering if it would be ok to keep a guinea pig in a plastic hard container it is really big it could probley fit 5 guinea pigs in there but i only want one and would it be alright to only get one guinea pig
Answers:I already answered your question about the plastic tub last week, so you know what my response is---a C&C cage would be much more spacious, easier to clean, and provide the proper ventilation that a plastic tub would not.
As far as the number of pigs, it would be much better if you had two. They are herd animals & like to be with others of their own kind. Please be kind to your piggie and make sure he/she has a same-sex cage mate.
Hi there,
My best friend keeps her piggies in a plastic rabit hutch, and as long as yours meets the recommended measurements then I can't see the problem!
I would suggest that you buy two guinea pigs, as they are very friendly pets and rely a lot on each other for companionship. They are also much happier together, and I have noticed that they seem to live longer if they have a friend!
Make sure that you buy your guinea pigs from the same litter, so as to avoid fighting! I would also recommend that you buy female pigs as they don't get as aggressive! Or you can have male guinea pigs neutered, but this can cost up to 拢50 per pig!
Good luck and hope all goes well!
