Any reccomended (healthy) hamster treats2007-11-24 21:57:40

Just wondering what the best treats to give my baby are :)

Answers:

small pieces of carrots and lettuce! our hamster loves it!

he loves to chew on toilet paper rolls! just make sure all the toilet paper is off!

These aren't particularly healthy so you have to be careful, but whenever we have pancakes for breakfast we make some hamster sized ones too. They LOVE them. Its so cute to watch you hamster eating a tiny little pancake. : ) Just don't feed them too many, but a limited amount (one or two per hamster on special occassions) is fine.

They love lots of different fruits and vegetables too.

Here is a list of things NOT to give your hamster:

Kidney Beans (raw)

Onion

Potato (raw)

Potato tops

Rhubarb (raw)

Rhubarb leaves

Tomato leaves

These can make him very sick.

do not feed regular lettuce only kale, mustard greens, spinach, broccoli.

carrots, sunflower seeds, apples ( cut up and no skin) purple cabbage ( it helps reduce stress) grapes ( just a little bit though!
