Are dwarf hamsters more likely to escape than regular hamsters2007-11-24 21:57:49

Answers:

Dwarf hamsters, in my experience,. are little escape artists. Their size seems to help them escape no matter how secure you think their cage may be. We had a teddy bear hamster that never escaped. We also had a dwarf that had babies- 5 of them. Between the 7 hamsters, I think they probably escaped 20 times. Literally. Most of the time it was when they were older and separated into their own cages. (This was in a college dorm room too- I can't believe we never got caught!)

no it doesn't matter. If you get a cage that there is no way for them to get out they won't escape. You should have a nice fairly sized cage. If the cage is secure then your hamster won't get out!

they are the same dwarf ham are not as tame as the other breeds but if you hold them alot it should be good

i have both right now and none try to to get out.as long as u have th percft cages and toys and food and treats and sleeeping places and stuff there is no reason to escape but dwarfs can not have cages with wired floors or wires that are to far apart

if you have a cage with bars, then yes probly, because the dwarf hamster is called a dwarf for a reason. (its smaller)
