Are/ is apples, salad and grapes healthy for dwarf hamsters2007-11-24 21:58:11

Hi,

I just fed my hamsters some apples and salad (no grapes) cause we had no food to give them, thats all I could give them, are the food I gave them healthy enough?

I hav fed them that b4 but I need to know if thats healthy for them and what other food I can give them?

They're really good for them actually..

Give them just about every kind of veggy except corn & onions.

They'll also eat dog biscuits.

apples will do fine nothing acidic as it will give ur hamster the runs n it can kill them try givin them a bit meat nt to much chicken will do fine

Any type of veggies are good for a hamster. But watch out, don't give them a lot of green veggies. You can always look it up on google if you need specifics. You can always get a book on hamsters at your local pet store or a bookstore.

Yes hamsters love some fruit in their diet.

It's healthy and completely safe for them.

They love carrots and you can also give them dog biscuits which help to keep their teeth short.

yes..thats all fine, apples & salad are great for them. our used to like a little piece of digestive biscuit as well...just something a little different.

Apples are ok. Most types of salad are ok, but dont give them anything too acidic. im not sure about grapes. i think its healthy enough, as long as you give them some hamster food as well, they cant live off just vegetables
