Are syrian hamsters cleaner than dwarfs2007-11-24 21:58:05

My cute dwarf seems to poop and pee everywhere, even in my hand or on the carpet! However, my syrians only do so in one corner of their cage, and the rest of the cage seems clean. Also, they never did it on my hand or outside the cage. Is it a matter of species?

I have to say im more of a fan of the gorgeous syrians, they have more manners dont they??!

It could well be that its not the dwarf breed that makes your hamster wee and poop every where, but thats just the way the little rascal is.

I have had my male syrian a year. He does wee in the same spot of his cage all the time. But I remember that the first few months I had him he wee'd and pooped in his exercise ball, but 10 months on he never does. He must cross those little legs of his because evrytime he goes back to his cage the first thing he does is go for a wee!!

no it is not the dwarf may be very scared so pees on u and stuff from being held if it keeps on like that u might want to say some who would really know but like i said he/she could just be a Nervous one

its probaly the hamster. i personaly have a chipmunk but my sisters dwarf hamster is somewhat tidy. but my chipmunk is trained to use a litter box so i dont have that problem.

!well to say i had 4 Syrian because they feel not clean and start

to clean right away but at the same time i like dwarfs too

they clean too but not much well its 4 you to decide plz tell me which one u will choose bye now!
