Arent Roborvski Hamsters supposed to be sociable and affectionate towards each other

I got a robo male named Cody, thinking that they didn't like each other's company. Then i read online and everywhere i looked, it said that roborovskis live in groups and do everything together. So.. i got another one named Gus. It's only been a day since i introduced the two, but they seem to be avoiding each other as much as possible and once in a while i hear a squeak, look over, and they're fighting. They'll scurry around and after a few seconds, one of them will run away into one of their shelters. I want to give them a chance to have a friend but i dont want either of them to get hurt. What should I do??

Raborvski hamsters should ideally be with littermates, especially males. Take them both out of the cage (into seperate tempory cages) and clean the cage with an animal disinfectant, the bars (if there are any) and all. A scented disinfectant would be best if available, else any animal safe one will do. This will take their smell out completely.

Let your little hamsters meet again somewhere neutral, a sofa or somewhere, with plenty of supervision. If they fight and cause any blood, then try seperately housing them if possible for 2 days, and try again.

Hopfully they won't fight majorly, and you'll be able to put them in the cage, which won't have any scent markings left for them, so it won't be seen as anyone's territory. Then just leave them with plenty of food and water (2 food bowls may be a good idea), and hope. If they fight to bleeding, they'll probably have to be housed temporarily, but if they're babies, they should be ok.
