Hola, I want to make some at home hamster treats. I wondered if peanutbutter and some seeds on top would work, but i won't they cant have peanutbutter. so if you have any ideas on treats for my hammy let me know. BEST ANWSER WILL BE CHOSEN ON; How well they follow what I'm asking & most accurate. Don't say anything else other then a good make at home treat for my hamster if you do you are not beign chosen.

I've given my hammies bits of carrot, strawberry slices, bits of sliced cucumber... all in addition to their regular diet, of course. In addition, you can try plain white bread soaked in a bit of milk (though this is more a treat for pregnant/nursing momma hamsters), boiled chicken, hard-boiled eggs, fresh blueberries... if you have a dog and happen to have Milkbones in the house, hamsters enjoy them very much (and it doubles as a chew toy!). Goldfish crackers are ok in moderation, as long as you scrape the salt off first.

Autumn is coming as well, so if you like pumpkin seeds, your hamster can share them with you too (as long as they're unsalted, of course).

You are correct, they can't have peanut butter, it could kill them. But they can have peanuts and my hammie LOVES her peanuts. They have to be the unsalted kind, the ones that are still in the shell but my hammie goes crazy for them! Also they can eat a number of fruits and veggies...my hammie likes strawberries, apples, carrots, green beans, watermelon, and bananas. You could make a little fruit medley for your hammie. Make sure everything is finely cut for easy hammie eating. Good luck!
