Average Age For Dwarf Hamsters2007-11-24 21:58:16
I got two Dwarf Hamsters about over a year ago which makes me assume that my dwarfs are over one year old but less than a year and half. Are they considered to be old right now? I am hoping to keep them for another year or so.
Answers:Alright, ignore the idiots who answered below me. Dwarf hamsters, are different then REGULAR HAMSTERS. I've been researching hamsters for the last week and a half. Dwarf hamsters live for about one & a half years, although they rarely live longer. So i'd start saying your goodbyes to the little thing.
Hamsters live for about 2-3 years.
They can live up to 2 years--some live longer, but it's unusual--and the average is 18 months.
Syrian hamsters tend to live longer (2-3 years).
Hamsters have an average life span of 100 days. Yours are middle aged. I would assume they have a year left, but they could get sick sooner than that. My dwarf hamsters seem to get sick early and rake up medicine bills.
I would say your hamsters are about "middle-aged."
I read somewhere that hamsters live 2-3 years.
If you care for them correctly they could live for a few years. I've had 3 and they lived for: 3 years, 4 years, and 3 years.
Average age for a dwarf hamster is about 2-3 years, But mine lived to be 4
