My Roborovski Hamster doesnt like any vegges at all2007-11-24 22:13:00

i will put some in her food and she wont eat them or if i put them on top of a treat she wont eat them and they r suppose to have vegg's i've tryed everything and i dont no what to do but she does like apples and grapes and stuff like that for sure but sh needs vegg's i guess so please help me

It's ok if she doesn't like veggies. Try some timmothy hay for nutritional diversity. Also, stop feeding apples and grapes. Dwarf hamsters are very prone to diabetes and fruits, peas, and corn contain too much sugar. They may live happy and healthy lives without ever consuming sugary treats as sugar isn't necessary in their diet.

try regular hamster food. stuff like lettuse will give them direahh, but maybe your little guy dont like veggies. what ive always done with my hamsters, try different food, see what he eats and what he doesnt... dont feed him the stuff he doesnt like...

oatmeal raw, peanuts,try carrots,oh, the one thing my hamsters always went nuts for is breaded shrimp tails..belive it or not... not something you can feed everyday... just go buy hamster food, the companys making pet foods now a days are usually pretty good

and veggies should really onl;y be feed as a treat to their diet, im serious, buy hamster food

Thats okay. A few of my hamsters did not like veggies either, its just their personality. But try fruits like strawberries, bananas, ect. Or you can give her hamster treats from a pet store. Also they love dry puppy or kitten chow(not to much though just as a snack). Also if you give your hamster dry regular oatmeal(only about a couple pinches a day) it will make them smell better and it is also a natural healer for small animals. They love it as well. Thats all I really give my hamsters. I hope I helped. Good luck with your little girl!

mabey ur little guy is sick of veggies and will like to try something new . after feeding her hamster food for a little while try feeding him a little piece of cucumber if he does not eat it mabey he doesnt like his veggies.btw the hamster food probably provides all the nutrients a hamster can get from veggies so dont worry.
