My Young Guinea Pig will not come out of her "house"2007-11-24 22:13:46

I keep my 3 week old guinea pig in a fish aquarium. My last guinea loved the box made out of wood, that worked as a house. The last one would come out of it though. My new young guinea will not leave the box. Does she like the box or is she scared.

Answers:

1st of all an aquarium will not kill her as opposed to others beliefs I've had my G. Pigs, Hamsters, Rats, Mice...you name it in aquariums (without the lid for G. Pigs) and they all lived long full healthy lives.

2nd if it's only 3 weeks old it's probably just been weaned and scared of being taken from momma

3rd...most G. Pigs stay in things like that until nighttime...don't believe me? watch her at night (without her knowing lol)

she is stressed,nervous, and scared. Give her some time and let your guinea pig get used to her surroundings.

well sens its only 3 months old its prob scared so try to make it at home and it should come out

Get her out of the aquarium asap.

My guinea pigs likes hiding under something. Good thing its a pet igloo so i can take the igloo out if she wont come out.

Guinea pigs are nervous at first. Mine were like that too. Just give her time.
