My idiot of a brother gave my hammie a corn chip2007-11-24 22:13:31

Will she be alright? My brother knows that hamsters eat dried corn so he gave her a frito, and I'm so worried and angry at the same time. Will she be alright?

He'll be fine. :)

Although, dried corn isn't good for hamsters either. And in dwarf hamsters, it raises the risk of diabetes.

she will be fine. I give mine small bits of chips or granola bar every once in a while, they love them.

Geez, it has a very high salt content. Watch over your hamster and make sure it's drinking and isn't acting strange. As for your brother, perhaps a lock on your door? =)

Of course! My little Sunny (Bird) is hooked on chips! I know he's not a hamster but they have the same body type! Did you know they put bird food in hamster and rabbit food? They put rabbit and hamster food in bird food too! So you see, your hammie will be alright! Just tell you brother to not give her so many!

hun what do you think wild hamsters get into?? A variety of food is ALWAYS good for any animal, trust me corn chips arn't going to hurt your hammie! Don't you treat your hamster to the occasional bit of what your eating? And in the wild to answer my previous question is ANYTHING. that includes garbage!

I f you are REALLY worried or your hamster starts having any unusual symptoms go chat to your vet. but i assure you nothing will happen to our hamster- my rats on a side note eat everything! (seed, cake ,, fruit, veggies, chocolate, everything apart from dairy products- they make them smell- and meat!)

one won't hurt her but don't let him feed her anymore. they have tons of presrevatives in them.
