My mom said i can get one male guinea pighow to keep him happy

i have 2 male gpiggies already but they are great together for most of the time and like keepin them in twos for some reason.i dont how i am going to keep him happy i mean is it alright to have him out alot and like put him on the couch and on my lap and stuff and play with him.my 2 piggies like play with each other and it is so cute!my mom said i can only get one cause i have so many pets but i am not sure how to keep my lil guy happy.please anwser quickly.i am leaving in a few hours and go get him.i have already named him Mr. Squeaky lol cause i held him and he is loud lol

Toys, floor time and best of all you!!

Toys do not need to be brought, they can be made from home using resources that you are likely to find at an average house. The first site in the sources box has heaps of toys ideas, here is what I do:

1. 4 inch PVC pipes - a must have, guinea pigs love tunnels

2. Toilet rolls stuffed with hay and parsley (or some other favourite vegetable)

3. Plain Cardboard boxes with a hole in one side

Floor time needs to be done every day for at least 1 hour, in a large piggy safe room. By having floor time each day insures that your piggy is getting enough exercise. The second link talks about floor time.

Your new guinea pig will need you, especially in the first few days. Having him out for cuddles, out amongst the traffic of your house and just generally getting alot of attention is a good start. Although the best cure for lonliness or boredom is a friend, in this case another same sex cage mate. Please consider getting 2.
