My rabbit started licking my shirt2007-11-24 22:13:44

I was sitting on the floor and he climbed up my shirt and started licking it. Why? I don't think there was anything on it, atleast that you cant see...

Sorry, but none of the answers so far are correct. Your rabbit was 'grooming' you. He considers you his friend, and maybe his bonded mate. Rabbits are VERY social little critters, they need to bond with a friend, although not necessarily another rabbit. If you pet him, especially his nose and head, he'll see this as you grooming him back, and should lie still with his head down enjoying it. Well, there was probably something on it, even if you didn't see it. Or maybe it smelt like something, or maybe your rabbit was hungry, but don't worry, my dog does the same thing.

There might be some salt from yout body that it taste. It won't hurt it. you might get a salt lick so it can get some salt in it body. It is one of the things it needs.

i think it either likes you or he could smell some thing on it like juice you acidentaly spilled a little on you when you did not know.
