My son threw his hamster on the floor,now shes dragging her back legs, what is wrong with her2007-11-24 22:13:05

I told my son to put away his hamster cuz we were leaving, I go in there and he said something was wrong with her . He finally admitted he threw her, now shes dragging her back legs, im freaking, out is she going to be ok? I really dont have money for a vet. PLEASE HELP!!

Sounds like a broken back. I think the hamster is a goner.

Make sure you son knows that you always love him, but that he did a really horrible thing. If he learns from it, at least the hamster's life won't have been lost in vain.

Her spine is probably injured. Maybe your son is not ready for pets if he can't treat them any better than that. Call a vet, because at the very least you owe this animal a peaceful death if nothing can be done for her.

she broke her legs or maybe some other part of her body! your son is obviously not mature enough to handle a pet (nothing personal, but think about it!) How can you think that she is going to be ok?? You need to get a vet to euthanize her, since it's really hard and expensive for vets to fix broken bones. I dont want to patronize you, but you should seriously wait till your son gets another pet.

And next time, if you're gonna get a pet for a young kid, make sure you have money to fix it. i hope your kid understands what he's done.
