Put food out in your sons room and eventually he will come out to eat. Try at night. If not just move everything. They will hide anywhere. Had one pull up carpet to make a nest. Look for something moved becuase they will def make a nest. Good luck.

I had a couple of mice escape on me, I was breeding for my snakes. However because I had the mice for so long they knew where to get food. When I found them they were not far from the cage. At that point they had been gone for a couple of days but they were very thirsty and hungry. I picked them both up with ease. If the cage is in a high spot put it down on the ground and keep the door open for it. Leave food out, maybe something tempting as a carrot. Keep it in a area you can keep an eye on it.

Not sure if your hamster will respond the same. As my mice did. But hunger and being thirsty should make him come out if he can not find it anywhere else.

FOOD OR

( PUT THE HAMSTER WHEEL DOWN THAT MAKES ALOT OF SOUNDS WHEN THE HAMSTER IS ON IT. THAT IS HOW MY BOY FRIEND GOT MY HAMSTER BACK FOR ME. IT WAS IN THE BALL AT FIRST. BUT SOME HOW THE HAMSTER GOT OUT. SO I TOLD MY BOYFRIEND TO FIND IT FOR ME. HE SAID THAT HE WILL PUT THE WHEEL AND FOOD DOWN ON THE FLOOR AND THE HAMSTER WILL COME TO IT SOONER OR LATER. AND THE HAMSTER DID COME TO GET SOME FOOD FIRST AND THEN IT GOT TO THE WHEEL. AND THAT IS WHEN MY BOY FRIEND GOT THE HAMSTER FOR ME.
