My syrainian hamster had 4 babies2007-11-24 22:13:06

obviously i cant keep them when they grow up because she will kill them, what should i do with them? i might keep one of the same sex and put her in a different tank. i didnt even know my hamster was pregnant when i first got her. the next day i went in her cage and picked her up and there were babies.

sell them or give them away.

When they grow up, you can keep them, but not together. For example, one cage per hamster. The mother can't kill the others that way, but the best choice would be what smunch234 said earlier, give them to people you trust and do well with small pets.

You can bring them to a shelter, give them to friends who might be interested, try going to the pet shop explain(as soon as possible) and after they are weaned see if you can take any back.
