My wife wants some little white mice
Can you keep those little mice you buy to feed snakes as pets? My wife wants some to just have as pets. She gets so sad when her cousin feeds her snake those mice. I know they are cheap to buy, would they live long?
Answers:yes! they are very cute and smart little things, but i would prefer rats to mice :)..
*Get 2 or more females (the more the better, haha), they get along better and will smell less than males
*They NEED a wheel, or they will die faster from not being active
*you need a big cage with lots of food and water available, mice are known to eat each other if they feel it is a competition for food and water
*Clean out the cage at least once a week or it will start to stink, bad!
*hold them often (like a couple times every day) other wise they wont be hand tame anymore and they will bite every time you try to get them out
*they LOVE little hamster balls to run around the house in, plus if you get four or five of them, its fun to watch all the balls run around the house
*they are VERY fast! if one gets out and its not very well hand tamed, you probably wont catch it, thats why you get the balls for them to run around in :)
*You can feed them hamster food, and some fruit *but you need to take the fruit out at night before it gets rotten*
*They can live up to three years if cared for correctly, but they will usually only live to be 1.5 or 2
*make sure you have a water bottle, not a water dish, if the mice fell in they could die of hypothermia even if its not cold in the house
