This sounds like my my conversation with my mom. Try what I did.

1. Do a little research on hamsters.

2. Explain to your mom that hamsters, unlike rats, are smaller and less likely to carry potential diseases. Definitely emphasize the fact that hamsters don't have the long tail that characterizes rats, mice and other rodents.

3. Tell your mom that owning a pet, even a small one like a hamster, instills responsibility and builds a bond between owner and pet.

4. Buy a book on hamsters and show your mom the type of hamster you would like to get.

5. If she continues to say no, be persistent. That was what I had to do. Oh and if worse comes to worse, ask another family member or friend to help you in your cause.

Hmmm...well i have had a whole bunch of hamsters i reallly love them the only downside is the whole cage cleaning thing but anyways here are some suggestions...

1. Say the whole... it will make me responsibe thing

2. Say you will work hard in school or somethin else to earn it

3. Show her a picture of what i real rat looks like :)

4. Tell her i how bad you really really want it

5. Tell her it will make you happy

6. Say it will be more time of me in my room with the hamster and less of me bothering you...!
