I'm getting one soon and i need advise on them from people with expirience please!

Hi there, I have 2 gliders with a joey in pouch right now. I've had them almost a year, and they are my spoiled rotten babies :)

Advice... Eeesh, I could write books on my own opinions of what should be done. Buy the best supplies you can, first off. By this I mean a huge sturdy cage or reptarium, tons of toys, lots of fleece, pouches made by someone who knows gliders and the importance of safe hidden seams, a stealth wheel, a tent for playtime, and all the works for whatever diet you chose.

When I first got gliders, they came with a 3' tall cage. Now this is a BARE minimum amount of space for gliders, and is considered a crummy living unless they get tons of playtime outside the cage. I've upgraded their cage 4 times, costing me way more money than it would have if I had just bought the big one first. Same with the wheels - I started out buying wodent wheels which are great for the price, but eventually bought stealth wheels that last longer, are far more quiet and versatile.

Diet is increadibly important - the diet they would eat in the wild would be rediculously hard to recreate, and far too often people think they live off fruit and bugs. They need a steady source of protien fruits veggies and suppliments. Many diets have been formulated for them that incorporate all of this - I would personally avoid hard pelleted foods because they can cut their mouths and cause infections. I feed my kids a diet called BML - I can get the majority of ingredients at the grocery store, doesn't cost too much and is pretty easy to make.
