Need help finding a lost hamster2007-11-24 22:13:55

I'm pretty sure that my hamster is missing cause he's not in his cage and I've torn apart the room that his cage is in looking for him and I couldn't find him. If anyone has any ideas about what I can do to find him, please let me know. Thanks

I had a hamster that got out and I didn't see it for a couple of days. He had got into the floor boards, I think through the fireplace and he came out from behind the fire on his own. Put food out near all the places or holes where he could have crawled into and he should come back. Just be careful that nobody treads on him though if he turns up somewhere unexpected, keep your eyes & ears open. Also, be very quiet and listen out for any noises or scratching coming from anywhere. And if it's quiet he might be more likely to appear if he thinks the coast is clear. All the best in finding him

clean everything out of his cage cause they can crawl under bedding in small corners. if he is not in the cage put his favorite treat out in one place in the room. hamsters are nocturnal so watch the spot and during the night he will come out to get the food!

Instead of trying to find him, see if he'll come to you. You can put out sunflower seeds, and other things that he might like in a box. Put several of these around the house, and watch to see if he comes. Good Luck.

I want a hamster :(. Make sure the cage is WELL secured when you find him. Oh..and make sure you dont have a cat,im sure that would find him...

You can check with pest control stores or other retailers about humane traps. They have one way boxes that you can store food in, once inside the doors shut. The only other option is leave it to chance. I don't recommend it though. I had a hamster that escaped and we found it a month later dead in the heater.

When my hamsters get away, we always set out their favorite snacks. They always come out of hiding at night. The longest one of our hamsters was out was 5 days. We were out of town and he got out of his cage ( again ). When we found him he was fine... hungry and very thirsty, but he was fine. Good luck.

shut all the doors in every room and in each room put a small amount of food and water.They get thirsty real quick. Good Luck with finding him!!

be care ful not to leave the door open and when u are not there to watch plug up the crack at the bottom of the door so he cant slip through. also try getting some of the funk outa there. one thing that i did with my brothers lost hamster was put pieces of carrot out ( i counted them) and checked the number ever 5-10 min. when i saw there was less, i new he had to be neer and i foung him. also if he likes to spin on his wheel, set it up outside the cage so mabey u can catch him in the act
