New Albino Bunny
New Albino Bunny2007-11-24 22:13:10
I just rescued a new albino bunny. He/She seems to be domestic, even though he/she was on the streets. He/She jumps in my lap and lets me pet her/him. I am taking him/her to the vet in 4 days to see if She/He needs any shots, or if he/she has any diseases. is there any way to tell if its a boy or a girl??
Answers:just wait until u go to the vet. if u think its domesticated, try putting up signs around ur neighborhood to find its rightful owner.
With rabbit's it's hard to tell but if you watch him/her pee you can tell, just like a dog.
the only way to tell if it is buck or doe is to look, if it is old enough a buck will have testicles. if very young, look there open the area somewhat and you can tell i have dwarf dutch shorthair, and does are pretty verbal about everything. males will stomp ( standing still and jumping down with a loud thump) at perceived threats.
there is no such thing as an albino bunny... depending on the size it could be one of three things... if it is short and very blocky with pink eyes, then it is a ruby eyed white netherland dwarf, if it is small, but not blocky then it is a florida white... if the rabbit is very large and has alot of meat (fat), then it is a NewZealand...
Rabbits do not need any shots... they don't get diseases like other animals do... A vet would probably just tell you the same thing (and it would cost more)
