New guinea pig wont eat
I just got my guinea pig today and it won't eat, drink, or really interact. i understand its going to get used to, but what do i do if it won't eat and drink? I dont want to give it back because its to adorable..what do i do to make sure it eats?
Answers:Guinea pigs are very easy to upset, and freak out. Most likely the shock of being handled, and removed from its old environment has upset it a lot. Just leave it be for a few hours, and leave the pig some fresh greens, food, water, and hay to eat. It's a pig, so he'll put a hammering on one of them.
If they're hesitant to eat the veggies or fruit, it is due to them not knowing that it is food. I found this to be true for my first pig, and I quickly taught him how to eat. The trick that worked for me was setting him on my chest, and grabbing a vegetable. Then you take a bite of it yourself, and make it a loud bite, one that is crunchy. Blow the smell of it in his face, he'll get excited eventually. After every bite you take, offer him some of it. Try to avoid eating after the pig, and having him eat after you.

That will help loads, it helped me more than anything.
maybe you should try hand feeding it or maybe it just doesnt like the food but dont hand feed it yet until it likes you
If its eyes and nose are clear, and it is bright and alert, leave it food and water and let it alone for a day or two. It needs time and space to calm down in. From the guinea pig's point of view, it's just been abducted by aliens. It's freakin' out, man. I know you are excited, but give it some quiet time by itself.
vet is the only answer
well mabe it is scared of its new inviorment!! that happend to mine but after a while it started to eat!! if it doesnt after about a week then take it to the vet and thats probably the best thing to do!!
First of all, your pig is scared. It will take some time before he/she gets used to you & the new environment.
