2: The pet shop i am buying the hamsters from hasnt got the breed name of the hamsters. They are avrage size with with short hair.拢7 each. Is it a good idea to buy some which u dont know the breed??
3: how much space would 3 need??
4: do they make much noise?? Not to sound too harsh lol But i had some gerbils a number of years ago and they used to MEEP all through the night. I
thanks for any help you can give :) from adam
P.s I am also going to get a book about them so please dont worry if i sound like i know nothing about them and may not care for them correctly :(
Answers:I have a hamster and I can answer your questions.
Most important. You should not have more than one hamster in a cage. If its male and male or female and female they will kill each other. Second if its male and female you will have many hamster babies probably... You can check by breed if this is true, but I have some real life cases of my friends hamsters eating eachother. I feel its inhumane to even take the chance.
2- I dont have those tubes, but they will get smelly most likely. I have a regular wheel and my hamster tends to want to pee on his wheel so I am constantly cleaning it. I was told hamsters do this sometimes. You could get a wheel with slots through it- it will still smell a little but i dont know if it would harder on their little feet.
