Any Tips?
Answers:If you noticed your rat was starving and didn't do anything about it then you should not have pets
I think you're answering your own question here...if you knew that your pet rat, for example, wasn't letting the other one eat, and it starved to death, did you consider removing one and keeping them in separate cages so the starving one, would be able to live? Starvation doesn't happen overnight...if you are positive that was the cause of death, you or your brother should have done something about this, or least told your parents about it.
You haven't specified why your hamsters died, and you don't have to, but perhaps your parents are on the right track with this. Hamsters, and any other pet or little creatures, need someone who's going to be responsible, and attentive, in making sure they survive. If you really feel you can take this on, I'd suggest starting with something small, like some fish, and showing your parents you will remember to feed them, clean the tank, watch for sickness, etc. When your parents see what you are capable of, (and when you KNOW you are ready to devote time and energy into pets), then you should talk to them about a hamster and let them make the final call on whether you can get one or not.
Being a kid can suck:) Your parents probably have their reasons why they don't want you to get another pet right now. Some things that you could try are being really responsible. This means cleaning your room without being told, doing your chores without being told, and maybe even taking care of cleaning your brothers rats cage to show that you are able and willing to do what you need to do to have a pet. Good luck
U R MY SIS IN THAT AREA!! Well what I did is I just took a break from hamsters fo a while and stuck to other animals like cats u might wanna try sticking to other animals for a little while.
hey, try showing them you will be responsible pet owner, and make sure you take care of your pets well. :)

Ask your parents and say i am more responsible now and am willing to take care of my pets better. When i was five my mom didn't let me get any pets and when I was 11 I asked for a guinea pig and got one!!
Try beta fish or sea monkeys. You can keep it in your room and it is inexpensive. If you save up enough money to buy one and some food maybe you can show your parents that you are responsible enough to handle a bigger pet.
Or go to www.neopet.com and create a virtual pet.
