OK,my hamster will not go to his wheel or tubes WHY IS THAT
i have this hamster and he has to go through tubes to get to his wheel and he will not go. i dont know if he is scard or somthing but he will not go through any tubes in his awsome cage! HELP!!
Answers:If he is not comfortable going through a tube just move it. He needs to run on his wheel. If not he will become a problem. They run miles each night. If he is not getting that exercise what is he doing with all that energy.
move the tub and let him get to the wheel... he might use the tuge later after he feels mor comfortable.

He might be scared to go through the tubes. Try rearanging the them, so that it is a lot easier to get to the wheel.
maybe your hamster is just different, or is just not comfortable going through the tubes. try giving it some time to adjust to them. if in the future it still wont go through the tubes, then it just doesnt feel very comfortable doing so. kind of like how some humans are uncomfortable around certain things.
Dont feal bad me hamster never ran through her or ran on her wheel either we called the vet and asked them and they said that is normal and she was just a bit on the lazy side lol
he is scared in the first few days but after like 2 weeks your hamster will get used to it and he will be running (how long have u had ur cage?)
He might be afraid or not know how yet... but what kind of hamster is it? Adult Syrians often can't fit through those tubes! Sad but true. Generally they are very adventurous and he should have found his wheel by now (well, if it's been more than a few nights. If you just got him today or something, it will most likely take him a few days to go through them).
If it is a full grown Syrian and you think he maybe just can't fit, return the cage and get one without tubes. (Petsmart will do returns/exchanges even without a receipt [on the cages, not on the hamsters]; don't know about Petco or anything else.)
Are they clean/new? Do they smell like soap or anything else not already in the cage? Strange smells can keep him away. It may help to just leave him be for a day or two to get used to it, but if after that he still won't go, give up. He's not a "tuber."
