OUCH My bunny has recently became aggressive WHY
I got a bunny back in April. His name is thumper and hes the sweetest little thing. Always licking you and he loves to cuddle. Lately he has started to scratch me and my bed. He no longer likes when I pick him up. I always spend time with him and he is out of his cage about 1-2 hours a day. If i got him fixed would that help?
Answers:Female rabbits are often aggressive, but males can also be mean. When rabbits hit puberty, they usually go nuts and their behavior can change from day to day. Be kind to your rabbit, and he might change. Neutering your buck might help with aggression. All my rabbits scratch the bed, they love to play with the blanket, and that's normal.
I don't know about male bunnies but I had a female rabbit that loved all the above. (she would scratch when she had to go potty-I knew it was time to take her to her cage)I would take him to the vet. He could maybe have a bone fracture or be in pain or perhaps the environment of your room is very loud. (sensitive ears). The vet may say it is time to get him fixed. If I don't get any I get bitchy too.
Are you absolutely positive that he's a male rabbit? My female rabbit behaved the same way until we got her spayed. They do this out of territoriality (and hormones going crazy); it usually happens when a doe gets to about 4-6 months of age.
Male rabbits are usually only aggressive by inheritance.
