Ok Im getting a guinea pig, what do I need2007-11-24 22:13:59

We'll I know I'm getting the cage.

Can Someone List these things for me:

What is Good Guinea Pig Food or Brand?

Whats good bedding for Guinea Pigs?

What are good toys for them to play with?

Should they have a wheel?

Guinea pigs are so much fun, you'll have a great time!

I'm glad you have the cage taken care of, make sure it is big and has plenty of space, guinea pigs grow fast!!

Katee is a good brand for Guinea pig food (it's the only kind my guinea pig really likes..)

Carefresh white bedding is the best (it does get a little pricy, but NEVER buy Ceder or oak bedding as it's bad for their heath)

They dont really like many toys, but you need to have a medium sized igloo (they sell them at petco or petsmart)

Also, they need wood blocks to chew on, so their teeth dont get too long..

they do not need a wheel actually wheels are bad for their backs, so dont get one...

other things that you need-

-water bottle

-vitamin C liquid drops to put in their water

-"Alfa King" timothy hay or alfa-alfa

-food bowl

-lots of fresh vegitables (carrots, "Fresh Express Spring Mix" Brocolli, ect)

-hair brush

-nail clippers (made for rodents)

a cage, bedding, no wheel but one of those plastic balls that they run around the room in. Carefresh bedding with a big wire cage.

Guinea pigs don't need a wheel, but if you have a place you can take them out and let them get some exercise, that would be good (kind of like a puppy playpen).
