Ok my dad says i can have a hamster IF he dosent smell2007-11-24 22:13:59

how many times do u have to clean his cage so he dosent smell how do i make him not smell?

At the very least, weekly. Maybe more often, depending on Dad's smell factor. Bedding is cheap and your hammie will really enjoy a very clean house.

its not the hamster that smells its the cage. just clean him once a week. thats all.

Its a rodent unless you keep his cage very clean it will

smell...be ready for the upkeep. also stick with one they

are very territorial I have seen them kill each other as well

as the babies for this reason.

Honestly all they do is crap hide in your shoes and stare

i think hamsters just naturally smell. if i were u i would ask for a guinea pig. u can truthfully say that they dont smell if u clean there cage once a week. hamsters really arnt as fun because they bite sometimes. guinea pigs never bite

You can't stop an animal from smelling, it's just how they are. Hamsters won't smell if you clean their cage AT LEAST once a week. It's the build-up of urine and feces that causes the smell.

if you get the dwarf hamsters they don't smell as bad and just clean the cage once a week and females also don't smell as bad so they are easier to keep clean.

AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK.. is a must and also have to check for fresh water every day.
