idea to get a hamster cuz ferrets eat rodents? I also have a dog. But thats ok if we have a dog right? What about the ferrets? Will they try to kill the hamster? What is the best cage to get? What is the best food and bedding to get? I NEED HELP!!!!!

hamsters are great if you don't have much time.but it is easy to get a nasty one. guinea pigs are much more cuddly and social. i have both
Yes, a ferret will kill a hamster. A ferret will also kill a Guinea Pig. This is natural instinct. If you can not keep the animals separate and assure the rodents safety it would be best not to get one.
i think guinea pigs are better because hamsters are nocturnal, it will be asleep when you're awake. also, hamsters are more likely to bite you thatn a guinea pig is.
