ok so im sitting here watching my hamster, and it seems like hes having trouble getting onto his wheel. the wheel is maybe 2 or 2 1/2 inches up because it hangs on the side of the cage, and today, yesterday, and the time i've had him, he just jumps right up. but a couple minutes ago i see him jump and like hang by his 2 front legs, then he pulls himself up.

is he getting old? or should i lower the wheel or something?

oh yea when he actually GETS onto his wheel, he runs fine and fast.. like normal.

Hi, maybe it has some difficuty in climbing up the wheel, try lowering it, so it will be easier.

As a reminder, a hamster lives a life span of 2-4 years, so as it gets olders, it is just like any human, when we age, we might have some difficulty in doing certain things. So dont worry too much about it.

Just lower the wheel and see how it goes. If your hamster is young, maybe go to the vet to check it out :)

He's probably fine though you may want to lower the wheel. Do you have any idea how old he is? Hamsters live to be 1-3 years old I believe...

how old is your hamster? the average lifespan of a hamster is around 2-3 years. if he's nearing that age, it is possible that your hamster is getting old.

however, since he runs fine and fast, i think you should just lower the wheel.
