Old hamster =[2007-11-24 22:14:05

my hamster, Mr Brownie, is getting old, i have had him since he was born bc my old hamster had him in his litter, he was the runt, the only one with brown fur, and he has made it almost 4 years (average life span is 2-3 years =]) How can i make the time he has left the best? I mean, hes very healthy, active, eats all his food, drinks all his water, but natural is natural, he has to die soon. so please, tell me what hamsters like the most... because he deserves the best! thanks! <3 <3

aww, im sorry your hamster is getting old :( just hold him and let him know you love him and wont ever forget him. I had a hamster that died in january her name was kelly, she got wet tail, and i took her to the vet and got her meds and tryed to do everything i could to help her even though i knew she was going to die :( the morning she died i woke up and saw her barely alive in her cage and i pickd her up and gave her a little snuggle against my face and she let go, i think all she wanted was to know that i loved her and she wanted to say good bye one last time :( so just let your hamster know that you love him :)

Pet him a lot. Obviously you won't be able to that when he dies.. unfortunately =[

Give him some of his favorite foods. My dwarf hamster, which is about a year old, really likes dried carrots, sunflower seeds, and broccolis.
