i went to clean my robo dwarfs hamsters cage and where the water bottle drips my hamsters chews it's food and leaves it there. well today in the spot there was a moist bunch of food with tiny lil worms crawling around should i be really worried because i am

EWWW.the worms, I agree with the others are just maggots. And I would suspect that the cage needs to be cleaned more often. My hamsters water bottles leak too, but I don't have maggots crawling around in their cages because I clean them about twice a week. Sounds like a bad little enviroment for a cute little critter. How would you like it if you had to sleep and eat and drink in filth? My suggestion would be to get that cage cleaned out PRONTO and keep it that way!

it may need to be cleaned out twice a week, our gerbils get there cage soaked doing that, any wet bedding should be removed once a day. hope this helps.

Do you clean the cage daily? If not, you probably should. It sounds like you may need a new water bottle, too. I wonder why he just chews is food and leaves it? Maybe you can try new food, as well.

ewwwww, clean the whole cage out and if the problem persist, contact your Vet. There could be little fruit flies or gnat's laying eggs in the food.

You should put the waterbottle in a different location. That way, the maggots won't show up. oh yeah... the little worms should be maggots. but don't let your hamster eat the maggots. but your hamster can eat mealworms! (Just not all the time.)

hello, move the water bottle and always remove wet bedding. ur little worm nightmares are just maggots. they are baby flies. ok give me a second.. EWWWWWWWWWWWWW

i wouldnt be worried about the hamsters though. just get rid of the maggots into the back yard then squirt them with boiling water to kill them. hope i helped

hamsters do this spit up the food...the worms should be there it could be because you havent been cleaning the cage that often... try cleaning it more often if that doesnt work then worry and take ur hamster to the vet
