One of my pet rats has been misbehaving2007-11-24 22:13:21

I'm up to about 150 of them! They sleep in the bed with me at night and most of them are well behaved!! Last night I woke up and caught one of them going #2 in the bed! What should the punishment be for this insubordination?!?!? How can I train him not to do it anymore?

Uh, well, 150? In your bed? At night? Well, you can't excpect all 150 of your rats NOT to go poop in your bed, they gotta go, they gotta go...don't you think its a bad idea to sleep with them at night anyways? You could easily roll over on one of them. It doesn't deserve punishment, a rats gotta go when a rats gotta go.

You cant really expect them not to poop. Rats go when they need to. Thats animal abuse not letting them have a cage to eat in, sleep in and poop in. You do not seem experienced enough to own that many animals. I think you should bring 148 back where you got them and keep 2. This time keep them both in a cage. And take them out for a few hours each day if you want. But seriuosly give most of them away and keep two at the most. You dont have enough experience to have that many. i know they are cute and fun. I am actually starting to breed them soon. But even though I am experienced I am going to keep their numbers low. 30 at one time is enough. Rat love human attention. Do you even have enough time to hold them all? Do not get mad a rat for going to the bathroom, its your fault since your keeping him away from his cage where else is he supposed to go.

well maybe make a little stand buy your bed that has a food dish, water dish, and a litter box so whenever one is hungry at night he can go up and get some food, or go potty. but why do you have 150 rats? and why do they sleep with you?
