put her in a hamsterball, its cute, entertaining, and really good for the hamster.
when your friends are looking at the lizard, YOU go play with your hamster! they dont want to play with your brother, they want to play with YOU. so they will follow you cause they want to be with you. so they will kinda have to play with the hamster. and it doesnt matter who plays with her, all she needs is attention.

First off - if that's a regular sized ham and not a dwarf hamster - do not get another hamster to keep it company. They fight and I mean they draw blood when they do it. Regular sized hamsters are very happy on their own and very territorial.
Secondly - your hamster isn't interested in impressing your friends. Your hamster is quite happy being herself and could frankly care less what anyone thinks of her. Its a good lesson - more than a few younger people could learn from it. Hamsters aren't for everyone and what matters is that you love her, not that your friends do. You're the one she lives with and, as you spend time with her, you are the one she is going to bond with and come to look for when you aren't there. The more time and attention you spend with her the more she will bond with you. Enjoy your friends when your friends are over and enjoy your hamster when they're not. Your hamster doesn't need any attention from anyone but you. Pet store boy is taking care of dozens of different animals - hamster knowledge may not be his specialty. Don't subject your baby to a lot of loud, careless people that will scare her because they sound and look like a herd of giants. Hams like quiet. You'll see. Once they're gone and you've had time to get to know her better, she'll be more than content with your attention alone.
Play with the hamster your self and when you have time get another one.
they are probably just jealous of your new hamster
