PLZ HELP Syrian hamster problem HELP Syrain hamser is giving me a hard time2007-11-24 22:14:17

ok i just got him a couple days ago i already hand fed hm he has olnly bit me twice. He sleeps in the tower all the time ( that i know of) how do you get him out of the tower!?!?!?!!? I don't think waking him up is a very god idea and picking him up cuz he doesn't kn ow me that well!! I am afraid if i open the tower he will jump out but i don't really think so if he is sleeping i don't want to wake him up but f i have to i will!! He doesn't really know me and his not complety hand trained yet cuz he is always sleeping ( that i know of) i really need to clean his tower out it smells so bad so how do i lure him out of the tower so i can clean it out!!!!!! PLZ HELP!!

give him time to get used to you. He is probably scared, if you have already hand fed him them maybe try to prsuade him with some veggies. Try to see if he comes out at night hammys are more noctornal

Slow down and talk in complete, understandable sentances. Hamsters are nocturnal, and they sleep in the day, and play etc. at night. Waking him up really won't hurt him, and he won't jump out if the towers over 12 inches high.

your hammy is getting use to his new home. This takes about a week but in the mean time just keep hand feeding him and pet him while he is in the cage. Try to wait for night time when he is up to clean the tower. Be careful these little guys will jump and you don't want him to get away from you. Also while he is up at night just keep petting him and try feeding him some of his treats by laying it flat in your hand and then lay your hand flat in his cage and let him get it, then try closing your hand a little so he gets use to you closed hand while he is in it
