PLZ help with my hamsterPLZ HELP WHATS WRONG WITH HIM2007-11-24 22:14:18

My hamster is a long haired teddy bear hamster. He put lots of food up in is tower and when i woke up this morning i looked in this cage and on the bottom it looked like nothing had moved i have no clue what to do also when i changed the water i always make sure he drinks it well last night he didn't drink any water and i always make sure the water bottle works and it does why is he eating not drinking and sleeping day and night i was up till 2 am and he was still sleeping!! PLZ HELP I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS WRONG!! I JUST GOT HIM FROM THE PETSTORE A COUPLE DAYS AGO AND I USE CAREFRESH FOR BEDDING DID I DO THIS TO HIM> YESTERDAY IN THE MORNIN HE WAS ACTIVE AND I HAND FED HIM A YOGURT TREAT BUT NOW ALL HE DOES IS SLEEP PLZ HELP ME!!!!! SERIOUS ANSWERS PLZ!

it's okay if he sleeps a lot. my hamsters do. try hand feeding him with the water bottle. it could be because he isn't use to his house yet. but the best thing to do to make sure he gets his water is to hand feed him with the bottle at least once a day when he is awake. goodluck buddy :)

Take him back where you bought him it may be a she.

you shouldnt give him yougurt treats, those are candy. A lot of pet stores sell sick hamsters. I went through the same thing a bunch of different times. when it dies take it to where you bought it and just get your money back.

Maybe a quick trip to the vet would be an idea. He could just be going into hibernation... is he warm enough? Google your hamster and see what it says.
